Sick leave now possible by phone

For up to seven days, workers can now have their doctor sick by phone. The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) and the GKV Spitzenverband agreed on this on March 9, 2020. The measure should help to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The regulation applies to patients who have mild diseases of the upper respiratory tract and have no severe symptoms or criteria of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) to suspect an infection with COVID-19 . The agreement initially applies to four weeks.
