Dr. Kristian Klüppelberg primarily advises companies, their shareholders, and governing bodies on transformation, restructuring, and succession processes. He also provides comprehensive consulting services in the areas of reorganization, restructuring, and insolvency, often in collaboration with auditors, tax advisors, and management consultants.
Dr. Klüppelberg provides crisis prevention advice during the founding, development, and ramp-up phases of companies. His consulting services also extend to the planning and implementation of out-of-court and court-supervised restructuring concepts and processes. These include, in particular, proceedings under the German Act on the Stabilization and Restructuring Framework for Businesses (StaRuG), protective shield proceedings, and self-administration. Further areas of expertise include corporate law and M&A transactions, especially in the context of distressed deals.
Dr. Kristian Klüppelberg studied law in Münster and Poitiers. He completed his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf. Dr. Klüppelberg earned his doctorate in white-collar crime law from the University of Cologne while working.
At the beginning of his professional career, Dr. Klüppelberg worked in renowned insolvency administration firms. He then served for a time as managing director of an IT company before founding his own law firm. After eight years of self-employment, Dr. Klüppelberg has been a lawyer and partner at Aderhold Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Cologne since November 2025.
